Q: Will there be any notable departures from regular-season rules?
A: 12-year-olds will play on 80-yard fields, not 100 yards.
Kick-offs and punts will be permitted if both coaches agree.
One coach is permitted on the field with the offense/defense. (Must stand 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage when the huddle breaks.)
"Cut" blocks are legal within the tackle box. (Referees will have the discretion to flag such blocks as "unsportsmanlike conduct" if in their judgment the blocker makes a deliberate attempt to injure the defensive player by aiming for his knees.)
"Crack-back" blocks are legal above the waist anywhere on the field. (The blocker's head must be in front of the player blocked.)
As always, "chop" blocks are illegal, as are blocks in the back and clipping.
